In the above picture, you are seeing something extraordinary…. This is called the San Boldo Pass (in Italian Passo San Boldo, formerly Passo Sant’Ubaldo and Umbaldopass).

It is a small mountain pass in the Italian Veneto region between the towns Trichiana and Tovena in the Cison di Valmarino region over a distance of 17 km.

The pass lies at the southern edge of the Alps. The most interesting point regarding this pass is that only one lane is passable at a time so the traffic is regulated by several sets of lights. There is a speed limit of 30 km/h because in past several incidences have been reported of buses were stuck in the tunnel. There are five tunnels blasted into the rock with hairpin turns or loops, and six bridges.

Now you know something useful about this beautiful tunnel. Dont you thing this looks great? At the first glance, it looks like the tunnel is not a regular tunnel or meant for only animals and not for automobiles.

But, its amazing to find that the tunnel is a normal tunnel for automobiles. Dont believe me!….see here….
